Whether you deal with dental anxiety, a sensitive gag reflex, or simply want a longer procedure to feel like it passed quickly, sedation makes it possible to get the care you need without dread. Our team reviews your health history and comfort level to recommend the option that fits you best
Focus on Preserving Oral Health
Your journey to stress-free dental care begins with a thorough consultation. During this appointment, we will:
Assess Your Dental Anxiety: We will talk through your concerns and comfort level to determine the most appropriate sedation option for you.
Review Your Health History: We go over current medications, allergies, and any medical conditions to confirm your chosen sedation option is a safe fit.
Discuss Your Treatment Plan: Once a sedation option has been chosen, we will review your treatment plan and provide detailed instructions on how to prepare for your appointment.
Sedation Administration: On the day of your appointment, our team will administer the chosen sedation option and monitor you closely throughout the procedure to ensure your comfort and safety.
Post-Treatment Care: After your procedure is complete, we will provide you with post-treatment instructions and monitor your recovery before releasing you to return home.
Also known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide is a mild sedative delivered through a small mask placed over your nose. It brings on a calm, relaxed feeling that takes the edge off dental work without putting you to sleep. Because it wears off within minutes of the mask coming off, most patients drive themselves home right after their appointment.
Local anesthesia numbs only the area being treated, blocking discomfort while you stay fully alert. It is the foundation of comfortable dental care and is used on its own for routine treatment or alongside nitrous oxide and oral sedation for added ease.
Oral sedation uses a prescription sedative taken in pill form shortly before your visit. It produces a deeper level of relaxation than nitrous oxide, making it a strong fit for moderate to severe dental anxiety. You stay conscious and responsive throughout, though you may feel drowsy and remember little of the procedure. Plan for a ride to and from your appointment.
